• Goldberg Awarded American Council of Learned Societies Fellowship

  Stuart Goldberg, associate professor of Russian in the Ivan Allen College School of Modern Languages, has been awarded a fellowship by the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS).

  

• Nunn to Step Down as CEO of Nuclear Threat Initiative; Moniz Named CEO

  March 30, 2017

  Sam Nunn, a distinguished professor in the Ivan Allen College Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, is stepping down as CEO of the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), a nonprofit organization he co-founded in 2001 with Ted Turner. Former U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest J. Moniz has been named the new chief executive officer and co-chairman of the board of directors of the NTI effective June 1, 2017.

• Breedlove Testifies Before the Senate Armed Services Committee

  General Philip Breedlove, a distinguished professor in the Ivan Allen College Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee about U.S. Policy and Strategy in Europe on March 21, 2017.

  

• Ivan Allen College Announces MOU with Woosong University’s New Endicott College, Named for Nunn School Professor Emeritus

  Georgia Tech’s global footprint took another step forward this month with Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts Dean Jacqueline J. Royster announcing a Memorandum of Understanding with Woosong University’s new Endicott College of International Studies located in Daejeon, South Korea.

  

• More than One Hundred Nunn School Alumni Celebrate Naming During Washington Gathering

  The cocktail reception commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Nunn School was generously hosted by David Cooper (INTA 1996) and Maranda Smith. The fourth annual Alumni and Friends reception featured keynote speaker Gen. Philip Breedlove, USAF (Ret.), a Georgia Tech alumnus and Distinguished Professor at the Nunn School.

  

• Georgia Tech Center for Urban Innovation Director Emphasizes Role of Research Universities in Smart Communities Innovation in Congressional Testimony

  Jennifer Clark, the director of Georgia Tech’s Center for Urban Innovation, testified on Thursday, March 16, 2017, before the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection. The hearing on Smart Communities was part of the Subcommittee’s Disrupter Series which examines ways that U.S. communities are using new technology to improve the improve safety, increase efficiency, and create opportunity.

• Public Policy Ranked 45th Overall Best Graduate School in Public Affairs by U.S. News & World Report, #2 in IT Management

  The Ivan Allen College School of Public Policy at Georgia tech has been ranked #45 on the 2018 U.S. News & World Report list of Best Graduate Schools in Public Affairs for the second straight year. Public Policy's also maintained its ranking as the #2 graduate  program nationwide in IT Management.
