Georgia Tech Hosts 7th Biennial Atlanta Conference on Science and Innovation Policy

The 7th biennial Atlanta Conference on Science and Innovation Policy took place October 10 - 11, 2017, in collaboration with the Global Tech Mining Conference in the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center. Both were organized by the School of Public Policy, which is a unit in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts at the Georgia Institute of Technology. 

The Atlanta Conference on Science and Innovation Policy provides a showcase for the highest quality scholarship addressing the multidimensional challenges and interrelated characteristics of science and innovation policy and processes.

More than 200 participants from 27 countries attended, as well as 30 individuals from Georgia Tech and many students.

The conferences opened with a joint reception organized by Alan Porter, professor emeritus in Public Policy and in ISYE. 20 early career researchers received feedback from senior colleagues.120 individuals presented their work in five parallel sessions and convened to hear plenaries from Nosh Carpenter, a leading network researcher, and Rob Atkinson, a key technology policy player in Washington, D.C. 

The gala banquet was held at The Carter Center.
