Digital Media Graduate Student Lands Job at Capital One
Posted September 1, 2017
Dan Singer, an alumnus of the Graduate Program in Digital Media in Georgia Tech’s Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, now works for Capital One as a user experience designer at the company’s headquarters in McLean, Virginia.
Singer joined Capital One in July 2017. He works on Capital One’s CreditWise app, and is a member of the Design Development rotational program for recent graduates.
During his second year as a Digital Media M.S. student in Georgia Tech’s Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, he was able to meet with a Capital One recruiter at the GVU Center’s Interactivity career fair and landed an on-campus interview.
“I’m glad everything worked out because Capital One has a great community of designers who are creating the next generation of banking and financial experiences,” said Singer. “My Georgia Tech education prepared me well for this role, and I look forward to staying in touch and sharing what I’ve learned with future students.”
Singer was lead designer for Sound Happening, a collaborative music-making installation that allows people to create music by playing with colorful bouncy balls. For more information on Singer’s Sound Happening project, visit the Ivan Allen College page “With ‘Sound Happening’ Making Music Is as Easy as Playing Ball.”
Career opportunities for Ivan Allen College students are being strengthened. Georgia Tech’s Center for Career Discovery and Development office is now holding regular office hours for our students on Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. The venue is located on the 2nd floor lounge in the Old Civil Engineering Building at 221 Bobby Dodd Way. Advising services are available for undergraduate and graduate Ivan Allen students looking for internships and employment.
