Posted April 18, 2017

Lawrence Rubin, a professor in the Ivan Allen College Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, presented at the Naval War College’s annual “Sea Control and Foreign Policy” symposium on April 5, 2017.

Rubin participated in a panel about “The Future of U.S. Foreign Policy” and presented a paper titled “U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East Amidst Regional Disorder and Entangled Alliances.”

The symposium considered future directions of U.S. foreign policy and reflected on demands the country places on the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard to advance and defend national interests. Participants from the Department of Defense, academia, and the policy community convened to discuss the implications for sea power as the Navy is challenged to deepen relationships with other partners and stakeholders.
