JafariNaimi, Jordan Receive Teaching Excellence Award

Nassim JafariNaimi, an assistant professor in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, and Jenna Jordan, an assistant professor in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, have been awarded the 2017 Center for Teaching and Learning/BP Amoco (CTL/BP) Junior Faculty Teaching Excellence Award.
The award highlights the teaching and educational innovation that junior faculty bring to campus. It includes a $3,000 prize, provided by a combination of funds donated by BP Amoco and the Class of 1940 endowment.
JafariNaimi and Jordan were presented with the awards at the Faculty/Staff Honors Day Luncheon on April 21, 2017.
JafariNaimi, who serves as director of the Design and Social Interaction Studio at Georgia Tech, specializes in the ethical and political implications of design, as well as the relationship between products and the processes of establishing and supporting democratic forms of social interaction.
Jordan’s research interests include terrorism, population transfers, attachment to territory, and international security.
