Mary Frank Fox, ADVANCE Professor in the Ivan Allen College School of Public Policy, has been elected to the Electorate Nominating Committee of the Section on Social, Economic, and Political Sciences of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The committee is responsible for selecting slates of candidates for AAAS positions.
Established in 1848, AAAS is the world’s largest multidisciplinary scientific society and a leading publisher of cutting-edge research through its Science family of journals. AAAS members reside in more than 91 countries around the globe.
Fox’s research focuses upon the study of women and men in academic and scientific organizations and occupations. Her research has introduced and established the ways in which scientists’ participation and performance reflect and are affected by the social and organizational settings in which they are educated and work.
Fox’s research is published in over 60 different scholarly and scientific journals, books, and collections. In 2015, she received an award as "Section Star" from the Science, Knowledge, and Technology Section of the American Sociological Association.
