Posted October 25, 2016
Margaret Kosal, an associate professor in the Ivan Allen College Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, spoke at Augusta University on October 24.
During Kosal’s lecture, entitled “WMD Proliferation and Emerging Technology: Strategic Stability and New Terrorism Threats,” she discussed technology, biological weapons, biological terrorism, and approaches to reduce the threat of advanced weapons.
Recently appointed as an adjunct scholar at the Modern War Institute at West Point, Kosal is an internationally recognized expert in bioterrorism.
Gregg Murray, chair of Augusta University’s Department of Political Science, said Kosal’s visit presented a truly unique opportunity for students.
“It’s not just every day that you get to hear from and pick the brain of an expert on real-world bioterrorism and biodefense,” Murray said.
