Posted May 6, 2016
The North American Society for Sport History (NASSH) will hold its annual convention at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta Georgia, from May 27-May 30, 2016. Georgia Tech’s Sports, Society, and Technology program, the School of History and Sociology, and the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts are hosting the event. The meeting in Atlanta will be the 44th annual convention for NASSH, an organization that encourages and promotes the study, research, and writing of the history of sport. The 2016 conference will feature an opening reception, numerous scholarly sessions, two keynote addresses, as well as a closing banquet. We are also pleased to announce two special events: A pre-conference workshop co-hosted by SST and NASSH, “Doing Sport History in the Digital Present” which will be held on the campus of Georgia Tech, May 25-26. Georgia Tech is also hosting a post-conference symposium on May 31, “Innovations in Sport for Development and Peace.” Both events are free and open to the public. For more information about all of these events visit the NASSH 2016 website at http://pwp.gatech.edu/sst/ or contact Dr. Mary McDonald, Homer Rice Chair of Sports and Society at mary.mcdonald@hsoc.gatech.edu.
