HSOC Student Emily Gibson Awarded Pre-doctoral Guggenheim Fellowship

Emily Gibson has been awarded the highly competitive 9-month pre-doctoral Guggenheim Fellowship at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. for 2016 - 2017. Gibson has also been accepted as a 2016 summer intern at the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Gibson is a candidate for the Ph.D. in History and Sociology of Technology and Science advised by Professor John Krige. Her areas of expertise are History of Gender, Science, and Technology and History of Commercial Aviation. She holds an M.A. in history from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a B.A. in History and Philosophy from Western Kentucky University.
